Celebrating another successful year. We saw an influx of visitors, including both new to the city and returning customers, as well as locals and tourists.

Our guides have excelled in reviews, and we are proud to claim fourth place in Edinburgh’s Top Tours & Activities on Viator. Two guides in particular received a bottle of champagne each:

Our top-rated tour guide, James (left), has continuously received five-star reviews, with visitors applauding his enthusiastic and engaging storytelling.

“James was super knowledgeable, from spooky stories to historical facts, James made the tour that much better. The vaults are fascinating to experience, definitely something to do in Edinburgh! Thanks, James, you were great!” – lillibett1, Dec 2025

“Enjoyable tour with James! He is very knowledgeable and genuinely loves sharing his knowledge about his hometown, Edinburgh.” – Julia_W, Sep 2025

After joining the team in November 2022, James states that “the job keeps me on my toes and I don’t have to put on an act – I get to be myself.”

Additionally, our longest-serving tour guide, Darren (right) has been providing exceptional tours since 2012 – that’s 14 years providing enjoyable experiences for all our customers, who have praised his sense of humour and interactive stories:

“Darren was a wonderful tour guide! Funny and informative. Loved his stories about the vaults and who did and may have lurked there. Made the tour fun! Thanks!” – Kim_S, Jul 2025

“We really enjoyed the tour, and Darren was an excellent, funny, clear and knowledgeable guide.” – Lisa_T, Sep 2025

Darren says the highlights of his career have been meeting new people from around the world and being able to stay active with ease. Who needs a gym membership with Edinburgh’s never-ending stairs!

Congratulations to all our incredible tour guides, who consistently excel in their storytelling year after year.
